Kings and queens exist in cards, not Bollywood: Kareena

New Delhi, Feb 7(IANS) Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor is not vying for the crown of Bollywood queen despite her hit performances and high profile brand endorsements because she feels that kings and queens only exist in a pack of playing cards.

'I think kings and queens are in cards, not in Bollywood,' Kareena told reporters at an event here Saturday.

On being asked her opinion about Katrina Kaif as an actress, Kareena bluntly said: 'I don't talk about other actresses in press conferences.'

Kareena was present in the capital to promote a new initiative by hair removal cream brand Anne French.

She is looking forward to the release of a number of films in her kitty including Rajkumar Hirani's 'Three Idiots' and Sajid Nadiadwala's 'Kambakkht Ishq'.

In 'Three Idiots', she stars opposite Aamir Khan. In 'Kambakkht Ishq', she will be sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar for the seventh time.

About working with the two actors, Kareena said: 'I pick up the best from whoever I work with. When you are working with someone, you kind of get tuned to the way that actor is working. I would like to pick up all the best qualities from both these people.'

The actress also spoke about her experience of working with Hollywood stars Sylvester Stallone and Brandon Routh in 'Kambakkht Ishq' and said it was 'an honour'.

That Indian music maestro A R Rahman always coveted the prestigious Oscars is further borne by writer-director Krishna Shah.
Remember Shah, he made the first Holly-Bolly film in 1978 called Shalimar that starred Dharmendra and Zeenat Aman with Rex Harrison, John Saxon and Julia Miles? Well, unknown to many even in Bollywood is that Shah is an Oscars jury member. And that he met Rahman three years ago in LA when the latter was doing shows. Shah, who has made several low budget films abroad since Shalimar, wanted Rahman to score the music for his script Baiju The Gypsy. “But Rahman was short of time,” Shah told BT. “Yet, he made a deal with me; if I took him to the Oscar Awards, he would give me three hours to narrate my script. I convinced my wife (who had bought a special gown for the evening) to stay home and instead took Rahman along for the event!” The story doesn’t end there. For Shah revealed, “Rahman had smuggled in a camera and kept clicking away during the awards presentation. I was mortified. I feared we would be caught. Then, during the intermission, Rahman spotted a huge statue of the Oscar. He stood next to it and asked me to take his picture. Which I obliged. HYDERABAD: The TDP has decided to launch a full fledged multi-pronged election campaign from March. The 40-day non-stop campaign would begin with Junior NTR hitting the road from Srikakulam district. This pulls down the curtain on speculations that Jr NTR was upset with Naidu and hence will not campaign for the party. Jr NTR on Sunday held a meeting with his fans and discussed with them on the role they have to play during his campaign and the manner in which they have to coordinate with TDP cadre. According to sources, Jr NTR would first visit Nimmakuru in Krishna district, the village of his grandfather N T Ramarao and will unveil the statues of NTR and Basvatarakamma. The tour schedule would soon be finalised and along with that the line he needs to take during campaign will also be decided. Later he will launch his campaign from Srikakulam and would cover coastal, Rayalaseema and Telangana region. Jr NTR has a huge fan following in coastal and Rayalaseema belt for his roles in faction oriented films.
